The Surrender Prayer Novena

 Novena: Starting January 26th, 2022

The Surrender Novena: For Jesus To Take Care of Everything

 Introduction to The Surrender Novena

The Surrender Prayer

DAY 1: Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything will be peaceful. I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, complete surrender to me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 2: Surrender to me does not mean to fret, to be upset, or to lose hope, nor does it mean offering to me a worried prayer asking me to follow you and change your worry into prayer. It is against this surrender, deeply against it, to worry, to be nervous and to desire to think about the consequences of anything. It is like the confusion that children feel when they ask their mother to see to their needs, and then try to take care of those needs for themselves so that their childlike efforts get in their mother’s way. Surrender means to placidly close the eyes of the soul, to turn away from thoughts of tribulation and to put yourself in my care, so that only I act. Saying “You take care of it.”

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 3: How many things I do when the soul, in so much spiritual and material need, turns to me, looks at me and says to me; “You take care of it”, then closes its eyes and rests. In pain you pray for me to act, but that I act in the way you want. You do not turn to me, instead, you want me to adapt to your ideas. You are not sick people who ask the doctor to cure you, but rather sick people who tell the doctor how to. So do not act this way, but pray as I taught you in the Our Father: Hallowed be thy Name, that is, be glorified in my need. Thy kingdom come”, that is, let all that is in us and in the world be in accord with your kingdom. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, that is, in our need, decide as you see fit for our temporal and eternal life. If you say to me truly: Thy will be done. Which is the same as saying: You take care of it. I will intervene with all my omnipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 4: You see evil growing instead of weakening? Do not worry, Close your eyes and say to me with faith: “Thy will be done, You take care of it”. I say to you that I will take care of it, and that I will intervene as does a doctor and I will accomplish miracles when they are needed. Do you see that the sick person is getting worse? Do not be upset, but close your eyes and say You take care of it. I say to you that I will take care of it, and that there is no medicine more powerful than my loving intervention. By my love, I promise this to you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 5: And when I must lead you on a path different from the one you see, I will prepare you; I will carry you in my arms; I will let you find yourself, like children who have fallen asleep in their mother’s arms, on the other bank of the river.  What troubles you and hurts you immensely are your reason, your thoughts and worry, and your desire at all costs to deal with what afflicts you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 6: You are sleepless; you want to judge everything, direct everything and see to everything and you surrender to human strength, or worse- to men themselves, trusting in their intervention,- this is what hinders my words and my views. Oh how much I wish from you this surrender, to help you and how I suffer when I see you so agitated! Satan tries to do exactly this: to agitate you and to remove you from my protection and to throw you into the jaws of human initiative. So, trust only in me, rest in me, surrender to me in everything.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 7: I perform miracles in proportion to your full surrender to me and to your not thinking of yourselves. I sow treasure troves of graces when you are in the deepest poverty. No person of reason, no thinker, has ever performed miracles, not even among the saints. He does divine works whosoever surrenders to God. So don’t think about it any more, because your mind is acute and for you it is very hard to see evil and to trust in me and to not think of yourself. Do this for all your needs, do this all of you and you will see great continual silent miracles. I will take care of things, I promise this to you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 8: Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away on the flowing current of my grace; close your eyes and do not think of the present, turning your thoughts away from the future just as you would from temptation. Repose in me, believing in my goodness, and I promise you by my love that if you say “You take care of it” I will take care of it all; I will console you, liberate you and guide you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

DAY 9: Pray always in readiness to surrender, and you will receive from it great peace and great rewards, even when I confer on you the grace of immolation, of repentance and of love. Then what does suffering matter? It seems impossible to you? Close your eyes and say with all your soul, “Jesus, you take care of it.” Do not be afraid, I will take care of things and you will bless my name by humbling yourself. A thousand prayers cannot equal one single act of surrender, remember this well. There is no novena more effective than this:

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything!
(Say 10 times)

Ending Prayer:

Mother, I am yours now and forever
Through you and with you
I always want to belong completely to Jesus. Amen

How God works with us... Saul to Paul

 Today January 25th is the Feast Day of the Conversion of St. Paul.

The Road to Damascus - Saul Takes his Journey

Many of you already know the story of St. Paul... First known as Saul...

Here's a wonderful short story to refresh your memory or to bring you up to date...

Saul’s Conversion Acts 9

"Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!”

“Yes, Lord,” he answered.

11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem. 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”

15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength."

SAUL to PAUL... Conversion of Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa
So, you say to yourself that God only used people in the Bible... I am so sorry to say that this is not so. God has chosen many to spread His word to others. For instance, Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa "The Preacher to the Popes"

Below is a link and story about Fr. Cantalamessa from Cantalamessa.org...

"Father Raniero Cantalamessa is a Franciscan Capuchin Catholic Priest. Born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, 22 July 1934, ordained priest in 1958. Member of the International Theological Commission (1975-1981) and for 12 years member of the Catholic Delegation for the dialogue with the Pentecostal Churches."

"In 1979 he resigned his teaching position to become a full time preacher of the Gospel. In 1980 he was appointed by Pope John Paul II Preacher to the Papal Household and confirmed in that position by pope Benedict XVI in 2005. On October 25th of  2020 Pope Francis announced that
Cantalamessa would be a Cardinal
The Preacher of the Papal Household

Cantalamessa and Pope John Paul 2

Personal Note:

Recently a few friends watched the Movie by CMax.TV  cmax.tv  "The Preacher to the Popes"  "The Language of Joy" Fr. Cantalamessa says "There is a language we see is still, still authentic and believe is the language joy." Yes, he certainly lights up with this "Joy" when he preaches the gospel...

It is not by chance that one friend felt inspired to discuss the Movie together online.

So, we did meet... but before our gathering and being the facilitator for the group, I ask God to help me prepare for the meeting. With God's help I was inspired to review Holy Scripture and the daily Mass Readings. I found that January 25th was the FEAST DAY OF ST PAUL'S CONVERSION.

NOW, you ask... ??? So... ??? Well... Here's the connection...

In the Movie Fr. Cantalamessa states that when he came to America, and then returned to Italy, that his colleagues said to him... "You go to America as SAUL and return as PAUL...!!!"

Connection: The Day we our little group of friends are to talk about the Movie... just happens to be the FEAST DAY OF THE CONVERSION OF ST. PAUL... Saul to Paul.

I call this a GOD WINK!

Be blessed... Paige St. James And inspired by Rose Gabriela

The Epiphany of the Lord

 Fr. Burke explains to us the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord... Thank you Father!

"The Feat of the Epiphany"
in Scripture...

Matthew 2:1-12
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea,
in the days of King Herod,
behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
“Where is the newborn king of the Jews?
We saw his star at its rising
and have come to do him homage.”
When King Herod heard this,
he was greatly troubled,
and all Jerusalem with him.
Assembling all the chief priests and the scribes of the people,
He inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea,
for thus it has been written through the prophet:
And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah,
are by no means least among the rulers of Judah;
since from you shall come a ruler,
who is to shepherd my people Israel.
Then Herod called the magi secretly
and ascertained from them the time of the star’s appearance.
He sent them to Bethlehem and said,
“Go and search diligently for the child.
When you have found him, bring me word,
that I too may go and do him homage.”
After their audience with the king they set out.
And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising preceded them,
until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.
They were overjoyed at seeing the star,
and on entering the house
they saw the child with Mary his mother.
They prostrated themselves and did him homage.
Then they opened their treasures
and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod,
they departed for their country by another way.

MOST HOLY NAME OF JESUS

Holy Fatima YouTube - Explaining the Most Holy Name of Jesus...

I asked this question for you... Why do we celebrate the Holy Name of Jesus?

This is the answer I found on the Web...
"We honor and celebrate the name of Jesus because the name of God deserves reverence. By celebrating this feast, we seek to make reparation for the irreverent use of God's name and
restore it to proper dignity."
"The angel tells St. Joseph ... By His incarnation, God made man takes on a
name indicating he comes to save us"

"Why We Celebrate the Holy Name of Jesus"

Click on the blue link above... It's just 5 minute read
Please visit this site for more information... thank you!

"The angel tells St. Joseph to name the child Jesus because he will save us from our sins (see Mt 1:21)."

"By His incarnation, God made man takes on a name indicating he comes to save us. Jesus becomes the source of our salvation. Since apostolic times, the name of Jesus has been preached and proclaimed. First, by the apostles as they sojourned on their missionary efforts, then by their successors who sought to evangelize, by various missionaries who brought the name of Jesus to the New World, and by teachers of the Faith who sought to combat heresy. We celebrate a feast in honor of Jesus’ holy name because it has been spoken throughout the world, and when proclaimed to those who have never heard His name, lives are changed."

Solemnity of Mary

January 1st, we honor Our Heavenly Mother, Mary.
 You question why or how...
First let's review the proper definition of "Solemnity"
Solemnity means - the state or quality of being serious and dignified.
Often used in terms of a Ceremony. (Site Ref: Oxford dictionary)

Now let's take five minutes to listen to Fr. Burke explain Mother Mary to us...

Fr. Burke, Notre Dame

Thank you Fr. Burke... That was awesome...💭

~~~
Now let's dig a bit further...
In the Liturgical calendar of the Roman Rite, a "Solemnity"
is a feast day of the highest rank, which celebrates a mystery of faith such as the
Trinity, an event in the life of Jesus, his mother Mary,
his legal father Joseph, or other mighty saints.
So, on January 1st, we honor our Heavenly Mother -
foremost because Jesus gave her to us.
Read: John 19:26 -27 So when Jesus saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own household. (Site Reference: Holy Bible)
AND BECAUSE
In the Catechism of the Catholic Church we are taught that "Mary is truly 'Mother of God' since she is the mother of the eternal Son of God made man, who is God himself." According to our Catholic teachings, sourced in the John 1:1-14, Mary did not create the divine person of Jesus, who existed with the Father from all eternity.
(Site Ref: Catechism of the Catholic Church)
"Mary is the Mother of Christ, and Christ is head of the Church"
"Therefore, Mary is actually the Mother of the Church, the True Church of Christianity, the Holy Catholic Church. Thus, the Holy Catholic Church is considered to be a mother to her members because we are all the Bride of Christ, and all other churches (Protestant etc) have had their origins from Mary and the True Mother Church...
"The Holy Catholic Church".
"Mary is also seen as the perfect role model of the Church. Because, she agreed to God's Holy Will to give birth to His son, Jesus Christ.  Just think - Mother Mary's immaculate heart supported baby Jesus in and out of her womb. She nurtured Him until he was able to began His own Ministry." (Site Ref: BBC.Co.UK)
It is only with much gratitude that I say "THANK YOU" to my Heavenly Mother
by going to Mass on this Holy First Day of the Year...
The Solemnity of Mary Mother of God.
Let the Holy Choir of Angles Sing... 👼
