Our Lady Star of the Sea Chaplet

The Our Lady, Star of the Sea chaplet is made with 15 beads. It has 12 beads in a continuous circle
and 3 beads between the Star of the Sea medal and the centerpiece. The 12 beads symbolize the
12 stars of Mary’s crown. The 3 beads between the centerpiece and the Star of the Sea medal are
for Our Pope, Your Bishop and Your Priest. Our Lady Star of the Sea, (Stella Maris) is the
patroness of the men who sail the seas. Saint Bonaventure reminds us that she also "guides to a landfall
in heaven those who navigate the sea of this world in the ship of innocence or penance."
Ships at sea might be guided by the North Star. Our Lady, Star of the Sea, aids not only
the sailors aboard those ships, she also aids all those who sail the stormy seas of life.

Most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. ... of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

HISTORY of Our Lady, Star of the Sea is an ancient title for the Virgin Mary. the words “star of the sea” are a translation of the Latin title Stella Maris. The title has been in use since at least the early medieval period. Originally rising from a scribe's error in the original name of Mary, it came to be seen as allegorical of Mary’s role as a guiding star on the way to Christ. Under this name, the Virgin Mary is believed to intercede as a guide and protector of seafarers in particular. many coastal churches are named Stella Maris or star of the sea.

the apostleship of the sea has for many years been commemorating the feast of Stella Maris, our lady of the sea, with a mass each year in September for seafarers. It is a day to pray for seafarers and to give thanks for their global trade.

Our Lady Star of the Sea, Stella Maris, is the patroness of the men who sail the seas. Saint Bonaventure reminds us that she also "guides to a landfall in heaven those who navigate the sea of this world in the ship of innocence or penance." Ships at sea might be guided by the North Star. Our Lady, Star of the Sea, she aids not only the sailors aboard those ships, she also aids all those who sail the stormy seas of life. The Prayer of Saint Pope John Paul II to Our Lady Star of the Sea

Mary, Star of the Sea, light of every ocean, guide seafarers across all dark and stormy seas that they may reach the haven of peace and light prepared in Him who calmed the sea.
As we set forth upon the oceans of the world and cross the deserts of our time, show us,
O Mary, the fruit of your womb, for without your Son we are lost.

Pray that we will never fail on life’s journey, that in heart and mind, word and deed,
in days of turmoil and in days of calm, we will always look to Christ and say,
‘Who is this that even wind and sea obey him?’
Our Lady of Peace, pray for us!
Bright Star of the Sea, guide us!
Our Lady, Star of the Sea, pray for seafarers, pray for us. Amen.
